Our Story

Family First

Family, chosen or given, is one of the greatest gifts of life. It is the foundation of perseverance and our support through every tribulation. That philosophy has guided this vineyard for over sixty years, and it lives in every bottle we make. We pour that same love into every vintage, and we hope it finds its way to your family’s table.

A simple life, built piece by piece

Before tourism put Napa Valley on the map, Bob and Carolyn Moe wanted a simple life. High school sweethearts from Saint Helena High, they built it piece by piece. Carolyn worked as a nurse at the local doctor's office while Bob came home from the Marine Corps to manage a vineyard.

In front of their house, they planted their own Cabernet vines and a future to match.

Raised with honor, respect and gratitude

After struggling to have children, they adopted two girls, Tish and Marty. When Tish was eight, Bob died of cancer at 48. Carolyn raised her daughters alone, with honor, respect and gratitude, and somehow kept Bob's vineyard alive.

A girl behind the counter at Model Bakery

Years later, Tish met Craig Wagner at Model Bakery, where he stopped every summer while visiting his father to see the girl behind the counter. They quickly fell for each other and Tish Moe became Tish Wagner.

Craig followed the Marine Corps path too, flying helicopters through multiple tours, including after 9/11. He and Tish married and built a life in Georgia, until Carolyn suddenly passed.

Back to Saint Helena

With Craig deployed and Tish 40 weeks pregnant with their third daughter, she made the move across the country to come home to Saint Helena to take Carolyn's house and Bob's vineyard.

The baby was born in Napa, and it was only right that she too was named Carolyn. The three sisters grew up at 333 Zinfandel. Dad flew long hours, Mom worked full-time and held down the house, and throughout all the chaos the vineyard never stopped being a priority.

Our turn to share it with the world
